Gentle exfoliation is important - whether for your body, face or lips. This helps to remove the barrier of dead skin cells and allow new cells to open up. This sugar and oil scrub is a great way to exfoliate and nourish your lips, just one extra step to the extra benefits.
What you will need:
- One tablespoon brown sugar or white sugar
- One tablespoon olive oil or coconut oil (use additional oil if additional nutrients are needed)
Mode of application:
- Mix one tablespoon of brown sugar or white sugar with 1 tablespoon of olive or coconut oil in a glass bowl.
- Take a small portion of the mixture and gently rub it on your lips in a circular motion.
- After that, remove the scrub with a damp cloth and, finally, moisturize your lips with a balm.
How often?
Exfoliate your lips with this scrub once or twice a week.
How it works?
Sugar is actually considered a humectant 😵 (it helps in retaining moisture). This way, while exfoliation takes place, you don't lose moisture from your lips. The oil, in turn, helps to nourish and moisturize the lips. This is a very effective method and works for everyone!
