It is known that one of the most important ingredients used in traditional Indian medicine is castor oil. It is used to treat a variety of eye conditions, from redness and stye to cataracts. Today we will discuss everything else you need to KNOW about CASTOR OIL and its amazing benefits for eye health. About how USEFUL castor oil is for SKIN , but this time let's talk about the benefits for the skin around the eyes. Just read on to find out how castor oil works its magic.

IS CASTOR OIL SAFE FOR THE EYES?

Castor oil contains unique fatty acids and other antioxidants that can benefit your eyes. For the eyes themselves, it's always better to use the safer, natural castor oils available from pharmacies that are organic and don't contain any additional chemicals. You can purchase them after consulting an ophthalmologist.

However, for example, the American Academy of Ophthalmology does not recommend the use of almost any castor oil (as well as any other non-sterile material) for the eyes.

Simply put - please discuss the remedies mentioned here with your ophthalmologist and use only the castor oil he recommends.

WHAT TYPE OF CASTOR OIL IS SUITABLE FOR YOUR EYES?

Regardless of what an ophthalmologist recommends, it is unequivocal that despite the existence of various types of castor oil, cold-pressed castor oil is best for the eyes.

This type of castor oil is obtained by pressing the organic seeds of the castor bean plant without heat treatment. It has the maximum nutrient content and comes in two varieties - purified and unrefined.

Use 100% organic cold pressed castor oil as it is best for the eyes. Also, make sure it's labeled "hexane-free." There are other varieties of cold pressed castor oil that your doctor may recommend - this may include pharmaceutical grade castor oil or sterile castor oil.

But as we said, use what your ophthalmologist recommends. Just let him know that you would like to get all the benefits of 100% organic cold pressed oil. 😃. It is not difficult to buy good castor oil, the choice of manufacturers and the volume of oil is quite wide, so CHOOSE according to your taste 😉

BENEFITS OF CASTOR OIL FOR THE EYES AND FOR THE SKIN AROUND THE EYES

The anti-inflammatory properties of castor oil (thanks to ricinoleic acid) help reduce redness and swelling of the eyes. The oil also soothes the skin and is good for wrinkles and spider lines around the eyes.

So, everything is in order:

1. Castor oil helps with red eyes

Castor oil stimulates the production of lipids in the eyes and prevents the evaporation of tears, moisturizing dry eyes. And the anti-inflammatory properties of the oil help treat allergies and eye redness.

What needs to be done:

  • Get a pipette from a pharmacy and wash it thoroughly with soapy water.

  • Fill it with 100% organic, hexane-free, cold-pressed castor oil (or the oil recommended by your doctor).

  • Place one drop in the corner of each eye before bed. The oil, for a while, will make your vision not very clear, but this effect will disappear as soon as you wake up the next morning.

  • You can do several days in a row until the redness subsides. This can be practiced for dry eye syndrome or any type of allergy.

2. Treats eye hemorrhage

This condition is a severe form of redness, when the blood vessels in the eye burst and the protein is clouded with bloody redness. The anti-inflammatory properties of castor oil can help reduce this kind of eye redness.

What needs to be done:

  • Take some castor oil in a pipette.

  • Put one drop of oil in the corner of each eye. Repeat this procedure three to four times a day.

  • After instillation, you can sit with your eyes closed for about 15 minutes. Blurring of vision will begin to pass, and you can go about your daily activities in just a few minutes.

3. Castor oil is an excellent supplement in the treatment of cataracts

Severe forms of cataract require surgery, and there is no other way. Not yet. But you can use castor oil to speed up recovery after surgery, or even use it before surgery to shorten your recovery time.

What needs to be done:

  • Using a sterile pipette, place one drop in each eye, once a day.

  • It is preferable to do this before going to bed, as this will give the beneficial substances in the oil a sufficient amount of time to carry out the healing process.

  • You may find in the morning a light crust that has formed around your eyes - this is nothing more than calcified deposits of other compounds in castor oil. Just wash them off.

4. Treats irritated (itchy) eyes

Castor oil works as a great moisturizer and that is what helps treat irritated and itchy eyes.

What needs to be done:

  • Using a sterile eyedropper, place one drop in each eye at bedtime.

  • Do this every night before bed until you notice improvement.

5. Removes "bags" under the eyes

Pour two drops of castor oil on your fingertip. Before going to bed, gently apply to pursed areas under the eyes. Wash your face the next morning. Repeat this every night - you will see results in a few days.

The same remedy can work well for sunken eyelids. The calming properties of castor oil benefit you in this regard.

6. Castor Oil Treats Puffy Eyes

Eyelid inflammation, also known as blepharitis, causes inflammation or swelling of the eyelids. Castor oil contains ricinoleic acid, which acts as an anti-inflammatory in this case.

What needs to be done:

  • Rinse eyelids and eyelashes with warm water

  • First, put a warm compress on the affected eyelid for 5 minutes.

  • Using a cotton pad, apply a few drops of castor oil to the affected eyelid (eye must be closed).

  • You can also apply oil to your lashes to prevent crusting. Do all this before bed.

  • Rinse your eyes with warm water the next morning. Repeat this procedure once a day for several days.

7. Helps remove dark circles under the eyes

The excess fatty acids found in castor oil help nourish the skin and lighten dark circles under the eyes.

What needs to be done:

  • In the evening, before going to bed, put a couple of drops of castor oil on your fingertips and rub them to warm the oil a little.

  • Gently massage the oil under your eyes for one minute.

  • Leave it overnight and wash with warm water the next morning.

  • Repeat this procedure for several days.

8. Is castor oil good for wrinkles around the eyes? Certainly!

The emollient properties of castor oil can help reduce wrinkles around the eyes.

What needs to be done:

  • Cleanse your face with your regular cleanser. Wipe dry with a clean towel.

  • Wipe your face with a cotton pad that has been pre-applied with tonic. This will remove any detergent residue.

  • Put a drop of castor oil in the palm of your hand and, with the finger of the other hand, apply it to the wrinkles around the eyes.

  • Apply oil along the entire length of wrinkles around the eyes.

  • After that, do not wash off the oil for an hour, since castor oil, after contact with the skin, begins to be absorbed only after 10-20 minutes.

You can also use rose water instead of a facial toner. Rose water and castor oil work wonders for the eyes and skin. Continue these treatment procedures every day until you notice visible results.

9. Castor oil will make your brows fuller.

The proteins and fatty acids in castor oil nourish the hair follicles and promote fuller brows.

What needs to be done:

  • Wash your face and eyebrows with warm water and remove all traces of makeup.

  • Dip a cotton pad (or eyeliner brush) in castor oil and apply it to your brows.

  • Gently massage your eyebrows for 2-3 minutes using your fingertips. Do this before bed.

  • Wash your face and eyebrows with warm water the next morning.

  • Continue doing this procedure for at least a month.
