IS IT POSSIBLE TO GET TO SLEEP WITH WET HAIR

Is it worth sleeping with wet hair and what it can threaten.

"Always use sunscreen," "bring a jacket," and "if you can't say something nice, then don't say anything at all." Familiar mother's advice, right? Yes, mom knows best. But what about the time she warned you never to sleep with your hair wet? We are investigating this.

First of all, I'm sorry Mom, but sleeping with wet hair doesn't actually lead to a cold. A brief digression into the world of health: a cold is caused by a virus that has nothing to do with the temperature or humidity of your curls. But this does not mean at all that you need to develop the habit of going to bed with wet hair 😄.

This, however, is not entirely beneficial for the hair, as the hair becomes weaker when it is wet, which means that going to bed with wet strands can damage the hair shafts. And besides this, it can increase the likelihood of hair breakage and tangles. But keep in mind that the experts we spoke to stressed that if you occasionally get into bed with wet hair, then it will not cause significant or noticeable damage. However, do it every night for weeks or months? Probably not a very good idea.

Per Phil Mania, owner of Mania Barbershop, says: “Sleeping with wet, loose hair can cause frizz and possible breakage. Let your hair dry naturally until it's barely damp, or use a blow dryer to quickly remove moisture and apply a moisturizer that matches your hair texture." (And don't forget to change your pillowcases often to avoid makeup buildup on them.)

We've heard another horror story about how wet hair can lead to bacteria and mold growth on the scalp and pillow. But dermatologist Dr. Hal Weitzbuch tells us that this is just a theory without much evidence. (Although if you have allergies or scalp problems like dandruff, then you should be careful and make sure to dry your hair before bed.) wake up, it shouldn't be a problem for you," Weitzbuch says.

BOTTOM LINE : Sleeping with wet hair from time to time does no serious harm. However, to minimize the risk of breakage (or if you have any scalp or allergy concerns), then you should let your hair dry before going to bed. But just know not to lose sleep over this 😊.
