I think we've all been told countless times that aloe vera is the best thing that has happened to their skin. There's a reason all these people and skin care companies are making such grandiose claims about aloe vera. This plant contains 90% of the amino acids found in our body, plus vitamins A, B, C and E.

All of this together with the beta-carotene also found in this miracle plant results in it having a wonderful anti-aging effect and is great at nourishing the skin. In addition to providing fast depigmentation, removing dark spots, and treating sunburn, this miraculous herb also has analgesic (pain-relieving) and antiseptic properties.

And, in addition to all this, aloe vera can also be called an excellent moisturizer. Phew! And how can so much be packed into one spiky plant? Either way, here are our favorite ways to use aloe vera to remove age spots:

Method number 1 :

Face Mask - Aloe Vera Juice

Aloe vera juice, taken straight from the leaves, is the best way to get rid of those black spots and any other discolorations.

What you will need:

  • aloe vera leaf

  • Knife

Mode of application:

  • Using a knife, cut several pieces from one aloe vera leaf.

  • Squeeze the juice out of them on your fingers and apply it directly to your age spots.

  • Leave it all on for 20 minutes, then rinse your skin with clean water.

How often?

Daily.

Method number 2 :

Facial Mask - Aloe Vera Juice, Sugar and Lemon Juice

The sugar acts as an exfoliator to slough off dead skin cells, while the dual whitening properties of aloe vera and lemon juice work wonders to clear blemishes and leave your complexion bright and radiant.

What you will need:

  • ½ cup aloe vera juice

  • 1 tablespoon sugar

  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice

Mode of application:

  • Place aloe vera juice, sugar and lemon juice in a clean bowl and mix thoroughly.

  • With clean hands, rub the mixture into the skin for 10 minutes, paying special attention to areas with dark spots.

  • Rinse your skin with clean water and moisturize.

How often?

Every day.

!!! WARNING: People who are allergic to latex may experience irritation from contact with the aloin component found in the skin of aloe vera leaves. Thus, it is best to wear gloves when extracting juice from aloe vera leaves.

If you are allergic to garlic, onions, or tulips, you may be allergic to aloe vera as well. Do a patch test on the inside of your forearm before using any of the products listed above.

Tips: Get yourself a pot of aloe vera plant so that you always have it at hand at home. Thus, you will always have aloe to use in any of your creams and masks at any time.

Consume aloe vera juice every day by mixing it with other fruit juices. This will improve health and get a natural glow for the skin.
