Bright, lush and shiny mascara on the eyelashes gives a strong visual effect. And yet, even after you have chosen "your" brand and the desired mascara color, and everything seems to be to your liking and should work well, it can be difficult to achieve the desired result again and again. The truth is that you can depend on some of your not-so-correct, and sometimes quite harmful, mascara habits. Mascara technique will be especially important when working with natural products, which can be a little less forgiving than their conventional counterparts.

Natural beauty expert and celebrity makeup artist Kathy Danno has a few time-honored rules when it comes to applying mascara, they may seem short and simple, but they can drastically change the expression of your eyes. These will be not just expressive eyes, but also very professionally painted. If you want to apply mascara like a pro, follow her tips:

1. Apply mascara to already curled eyelashes.

If you curl your eyelashes after applying mascara, the mascara will peel off from the place where the curling was carried out. “And you probably won’t be able to see it in the mirror, but it will be perfectly noticeable from the side that there is no mascara on part of the eyelashes, especially if your eyelashes are light in color,” Danno says.

2. Make sure you dry the brush (or brush) thoroughly.

Many brands that produce mascara do not spend money on any special tools to remove excess mascara. And that's okay! But this, in turn, requires our adjustment so that there is not an excessive amount of mascara on the brush. “You may have to wipe it against the neck of the tube itself, or something like that, to avoid massive clumps of mascara on the brush,” she recommended.

3. Prepare an eyelash comb.

“Almost always when you put on more than one coat of mascara, your lashes will need a little help separating the lashes,” says Danno. "Purchase yourself a special lash comb that has thin, long teeth that are perfect for your lashes."

4. Apply mascara from the roots.

Sometimes women avoid applying mascara to the roots of their eyelashes, for various reasons. “But if you only color the tips of the cilia, then this can neutralize the entire effect of makeup. For example, when you turn your head, people will see translucent eyelashes,” says Danno, “and this is probably not at all what you are counting on.”

5. There is no universal brush that is suitable for all types of eyelashes.

When it comes to brush selection, Danno claims it's completely individual. Some people like brushes (brushes) a la "teddy bear", (these are big and fluffy); others are used to hard plastic options with spiky teeth, but you'd better try a few different options before deciding what works best for your lashes. It all depends on your eye shape, how long your lashes are, and how it is convenient to work with such a tool.

“As we get older and our eyelids get thicker (moisture builds up in the skin inside the eyelids with age, shortening the lashes), it becomes harder to apply mascara with the old, beloved brush,” says Danno. - Therefore, you will need to choose a different type of brush.

6. Is it possible to paint with mascara extended or laminated eyelashes.

It can be immediately noted that LAMINATED EYELASHES can be painted with mascara, they will not suffer from this in any way, but this should be done no earlier than 24 hours after the lamination procedure.

As for EXTENDED EYELASHES , it is highly NOT recommended to paint them with mascara. Since, at the same time, the time of wearing them is drastically reduced.
