shugaring at home how to do it right

Hair removal can be stressful, costly, time consuming and, if you use wax, painful. However, there is a new, natural and less painful alternative to traditional waxing that delivers just as good, if not better results, and that is SUGARING. In addition, shugaring at home, if done correctly, allows you to solve the issue of hair removal once and for all.

"Waxing is by far the most popular and easily accessible method of removing body hair. , - explains Daria Afanasyeva, founder of Sugaring Organic Waxing in New York, “But once you try Sugaring, we bet you will never go back to wax!”

Curious? Keep reading and I'll explain what it is, how it works, and other details.

What is Sugaring

Sugaring is a natural hair removal technology. Unlike traditional waxing, sugaring does not require paper strips. Instead, the technique uses a special paste made from sugar, lemon juice, and water.

With his hands, the master smoothes the paste on the patient's skin in the opposite direction of hair growth and leaves it for a few seconds. The paste cools a little and becomes a little firmer. Then it is removed in the direction of hair growth to keep the hair intact and prevent breakage. Because the wax hardens on the hair, it tends to break at the surface of the skin instead of pulling it out. In principle, waxing can actually leave 15 to 30 percent of hair not torn out, but "broken off" hair. With a gentler sugaring process, hair grows back slower and softer.

What is sugaring paste

As mentioned above, sugar paste is made up of sugar, lemon juice, and water - and nothing else. No chemicals, fragrance or coloring added. It's also hypoallergenic, making it a viable option for ultra-sensitive skin.

(!) Many novice masters are trying to find the best recipe for shugaring paste at home. However, even factory-made pasta does not always suit one or another master, so do not torture yourself and do not scare away your customers with “homemade” pasta. Start with purchased pastes, since the choice is large and the prices are reasonable, and then, if you want adventure, try making sugar paste for sugaring yourself.

Traditional wax is heated to bring it to a liquid state and applied hot. This can lead to accidental burns and even sometimes scarring. However, the sugaring paste is heated to a temperature compatible with the temperature of the human body. It is also easily removed with water. After the sugaring procedure, you will never have the feeling that something sticky is left on the skin, as sometimes happens after waxing. Since the wax contains resins, and only chemical solvents will completely remove its residues.

What part of your precious body can be given for sugaring

Actually, ANYTHING you want. Anywhere, really! Legs, arms, bikini area, lips, even armpits - anywhere you would like to remove hair as long as the hair is long enough to pull out. What is the minimum length? Sugaring masters explain that sugaring requires a hair length of approximately 3-4 mm. This is the length she usually grows in just 5-7 days after shaving. The optimal length is 5-6mm.

There is only one type of hair that is not recommended to be removed by sugaring - it is male facial hair. Since this hair is thicker and coarser

What do we gain then?

As we have already mentioned, after sugaring hair grows slower and softer. The longer you use this method, the less you will suffer from unwanted hair. This is because hair grows in cycles, and the more often you remove it in the middle of a growth cycle, the longer it takes to regenerate. If you begin to use sugaring regularly, your hair will become softer and thinner, and, in the end, it will hardly be visible, like a child's hair. Compared to waxing and shaving, sugaring results in fewer injuries and less redness after application.

What hurts more, sugaring or waxing?

Although pain of varying intensity occurs with all types of hair removal, most clients say that in their opinion sugaring is much less painful than waxing, but certainly not as painless as shaving. Yet, for example, I did not feel any discomfort after sugaring, unlike the procedures when I did waxing.)

How often to carry out the procedure of sugaring

Experts recommend that people undergo this procedure approximately every 25 days. However, this may depend on your hair type. For women with thick, dark hair, this may be slightly more common than for those with fine, blond hair. If you are not sure, just talk to your master. The main thing to remember is that the more often you do this, the less often you will have to think about hair removal!
