Who doesn't love strawberries? They look so pretty and so delicious... But did you know that they are also great for fighting blemishes and brightening your skin?

Strawberries contain salicylic acid which is a really popular ingredient used in many skin care products. Since it is an excellent exfoliant, it effectively removes all dead skin cells. It moisturizes and softens the skin from within.

But most importantly, strawberries contain alpha hydroxy acids, which clear the top layer of your skin, as well as ellagic acid, which is responsible for whitening those dark spots and lifting overall skin tone by inhibiting melanin production in your skin. Here's how we like to use our strawberries.

Method number 1 :

Facial mask - Strawberry and honey

This delicious face mask will reduce pigmentation spots and give you soft and glowing skin. It's a win-win!

What you will need:

  • 4-5 strawberries

  • 1 tablespoon honey

  • Blender

Mode of application:

  • Blend strawberries and honey together into a thick paste.

  • Apply the paste on your face and leave for 40 minutes

  • Wash off with warm water.

How often?

Daily.

Method number 2 :

Facial Mask - Strawberry & Apple Cider Vinegar

This powerful face mask acts like a very gentle version of a chemical peel that you can do in the comfort of your own home.

What you will need:

  • 3-5 strawberries

  • 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar

  • Fork

Mode of application:

  • Remember the strawberries, using a fork to get a smooth mass.

  • Add apple cider vinegar.

  • Apply the paste on your face and leave for 20 minutes.

  • Wash off with water.

How often?

Twice a week.

!!! WARNING: Be sure to apply sunscreen after using any of these home remedies, as the acidic property of strawberries can make your skin more sensitive to the sun's ultraviolet rays.

Tips: Use only organic strawberries. Non-organic strawberries can bring a ton of pesticides and insecticides to your skin that won't wash off with water and can cause serious damage to your skin.
