HOW TO USE DRY SHAMPOO CORRECTLY
The Biggest Mistakes to Avoid When You Decide to Use Dry Shampoo

Dry shampoo is very good as it can add texture and volume to just about any hairstyle if you use it correctly. We all make fairly common mistakes that can lead to dandruff or small things. Watch the video where George explains how to properly use dry shampoo:
For more information on the do's and don'ts of dry shampoos, avoid the seven mistakes below and follow Good Housekeeping's chief makeup artist, April Francino.
Mistake #1: Spraying too close to the scalp.
To evenly distribute the dry shampoo throughout the hair and avoid the appearance of a chalky white tint, Franzino recommends that when spraying the shampoo, keep the dry shampoo spray at a distance of 8-10 centimeters from the scalp to prevent clumping. If you use powder, Franzino advises to sprinkle it close to the scalp and rub it with your fingers to distribute it well through the hair.
Mistake #2: Using too much product.
If your hair is oily, a good dose of dry shampoo can make it look fresher, but if you apply too much, your hair can become dull and discolored. As with other cosmetics, it is better to add later than to remove excess , so use a small amount of dry shampoo first, then wait a few minutes and add more if you feel that the hair is still too oily.
Mistake #3: Applying dry shampoo to the wrong part of your hair.
Don't spray dry shampoo all over your head - just stick to the first five centimeters . Chances are the ends of your hair aren't that oily, so putting extra powder on them can make your hair look rough and dull.
Mistake #4: Not massaging your hair.
If you don't, the dry shampoo will just sit on your hair and won't do its job. Thus, using your fingertips, massage it into the hair roots and scalp.
Mistake #5: Using the wrong color for your hair.
If you have dark brown hair and use a light-colored dry shampoo, the result will look like someone has sprinkled chalk on your hair. If you have blond hair and you choose a dark shade, then leopard spotting will form in your hair 😄. But the good news is that more and more brands are making tinted dry shampoos, so you can choose from shampoos for blondes, brown hair, and black hair.
Mistake #6: When you start rubbing it immediately after application.
Don't just spray and go - let the product work into your hair and really absorb the oil into your roots leaving it to "work" for a few minutes before massaging it and brushing or combing through.
Francino also has special advice on when you should apply. “Dry shampoo can be applied any time your hair needs a boost, but we like to use it before bed ,” she says. "Hair absorbs them when you sleep and looks fresh in the morning."
Mistake #7: Count on using dry shampoo every day.
As someone who shampoos no more than once a week, I always use dry shampoo in between shampoos and it does a great job of helping me avoid oiliness. But doing it too often can actually be harmful because the accumulated residue can eventually clog your follicles. Therefore, try to do this only once between washing your hair , so that your scalp has a chance to breathe.
