Rose water, known as "Gulab Jal" in some countries, is a by-product of rose oil production. It is one of the most used ingredients in perfumery, cosmetics, foods as well as medicines.
Since ancient times, Rose Water has been highly valued as a wonderful perfume, as well as for its healing and nourishing properties. Its importance and versatility in skin care is unparalleled.
Rose water is famous for helping the skin maintain its proper pH levels, and using it as a toner and cleanser is probably one of the best options for your skin.
What are the health benefits of rose water?

- Rose water maintains the pH balance of the skin, helps in the treatment of acne, dermatitis and eczema.
- Smoothes, firms, hydrates and revitalizes the skin to heal scars, cuts and wounds
- Helps relieve skin irritation and has an overall calming effect, thereby relieving stress and anxiety
- Rose water for the face well tones the skin and has antibacterial properties
- Its antioxidant properties help strengthen skin cells and repair damaged tissues.
- Revitalizes aging skin while smoothing fine lines and reducing deep wrinkles.
What are the benefits of rose water for hair?
1. Controls the release of natural oil from the skin.
Rose water helps remove excess oil from your skin when used as a toner. It works great on your hair. Some people have very active sebaceous glands that secrete large amounts of sebum, an oily substance in the scalp, at the root of the hair. This sebum can make your hair more greasy and sticky, which not only looks unpleasant, but also makes it easier for dirt to stick to your hair. Thus, rose water can be used to prevent this.
Rose water's pH is very close to your hair's natural pH, meaning it can help reduce oiliness and restore natural shine. To remove excess oil, soak a cotton pad with rose water and apply it to the scalp, parting the hair row by row. Be patient, the procedure will take some time, but it is necessary to cover the entire scalp.
Once this is done, rinse your hair with rose water to permanently remove excess oil. This is a very effective method, and unlike most commercial shampoos, it won't leave your hair dry and frizzy.
2. Reduces dryness.
Rose water helps control oily scalp, but it is also good for dry and frizzy hair. Rose water can soothe the scalp and hydrate it. A dry scalp will eventually lead to dry hair, and rehydrating the scalp really helps to eliminate the effect of unnecessarily frizzy hair.
For maximum effect, use glycerin along with rose water as it increases the moisturizing effect of rose water. To make a solution, mix equal parts glycerin and rose water. This slightly viscous liquid should be applied to the scalp and hair roots with massaging movements. Give her 15 minutes. Then rinse well with water. Repeat this process once a week for best results.
3. Excellent conditioner.
Rose water really helps with hair conditioning. Sometimes shampoos leave our hair dry and almost crunchy after drying. This is a common problem since most shampoos contain a lot of chemicals that may not suit our body and unbalance the pH of the skin. To solve this problem, you can also use rose water.
All you have to do is just do the final rinse with a cup of rose water after shampooing your hair. It deeply hydrates hair and leaves it shiny all day long. In addition, rose water leaves a very delicate, sweetish and very exotic smell in your hair that no conditioner or shampoo can reproduce.
(!) There is one nuance that needs to be taken into account. If rose water is made too strong, it can stain blonde or highlighted hair, so keep that in mind when you decide to use it.
You can make your own rose water conditioner. Good quality rose water contains only rose essential oil and water. Thus, you can take pure water and add rose essential oil to it. Drop 10 drops of rose essential oil into a container with 1 liter of water. Get a good hair conditioner.
4. Repairs damaged hair.
These days, our hair is damaged in almost every adult. Environmental damage and dirt are our first worst enemies, followed by chemical hair products and exposure to high temperatures (hair dryers, curling irons, etc.). We are always in a hurry and hence natural hair drying is not an option for many of us. And blow-drying often leads to serious damage to the hair.
Rose water helps in healing damaged hair and, to some extent, can even reverse the damage. To enhance the restorative properties of rose water, you can add vitamin E and jojoba oil to it. Pour the contents of 3 vitamin E capsules and a teaspoon of jojoba oil into a cup of rose water. Shake well to mix the ingredients well. Spray on your hair. Now massaging rose water throughout the hair and scalp. You can leave this mixture overnight and wash it off with shampoo (preferably ORGANIC HAIR SHAMPOO ) in the morning as you normally would.
5. Promotes Hair Growth.
Is rose water a hair growth stimulant? Although there is no scientific evidence pointing to a link between hair growth and rose water, some researchers confirm it. Of course, rose water contains vitamin A, vitamin B3, vitamin C and vitamin E, all of which are responsible for hair growth.
To include rose water in your hair restoration treatment, simply add rose essential oil to all of your hair products. Rose essential oil can be added to shampoo, conditioner and nourishing hair masks. In fact, if you're trying to really stimulate hair growth, make your own conditioner and shampoo at home using natural products and add rose essential oil to it. Shampoo and conditioner can be made according to the recipes below.
6. Gives hair strength and elasticity.
Does your hair break easily? Got tougher? There can be various reasons for the loss of hair elasticity. But you can also use rose water to restore the elasticity of your hair. The ancient Chinese used rose water as a hair conditioner.
Rose water improves blood circulation in the scalp. And increased blood circulation rejuvenates the hair follicles and makes them stronger. This, in turn, promotes a better exchange of nutrients from the roots to the tips of the hair. As a result, you can expect a reduction in hair breakage and an improvement in their overall appearance.
You can use rose water on your hair in several ways. First of all, you can try making your own shampoo or conditioner using rose water. Otherwise, even a good gargle with rose water every few days is a great option. You can make a mixture of vitamin E and rose water and apply it once a week.
7. Removes dandruff.
Dandruff can be very annoying and persistent at the same time. But instead of starting the scalp treatment with harsh chemicals commonly found in anti-dandruff shampoos, you can turn to rose water first.
Unlike chemically saturated shampoos, rose water perfectly hydrates the hair and leaves it well conditioned. To get rid of dandruff, add fenugreek seeds to rose water.
Soak fenugreek seeds in rose water for a few hours until they are soft and blend them into a paste in a blender. Take this liquid paste and apply it on your skin. Leave it on your head for one hour and then wash it off with shampoo as usual. This should solve your dandruff problem once a week.
8. Rose water fights skin infections.
Rose water has been proven to have antifungal and anti-inflammatory properties. So keep all those harmful bacteria and fungi at bay by rinsing your scalp with rose water every few days.
You can make your own rose water shampoo and conditioner. If this is too much of a hassle for you, then just add rose water to your hair care products. Adding essential rose oil will also be effective.
9. Improves scalp health.
As we have already said, rose water helps to improve the blood circulation of the skin. As a result, the overall condition of the scalp is improved, and dandruff, excess oil, fungal infections and other similar problems that the scalp can be subject to from time to time are significantly reduced.
You can massage your scalp using rose essential oil in combination with any carrier oil such as jojoba oil (actually you get COSMETIC OIL ) to get the most benefit for yourself. Even just wiping rose water into the scalp will be quite beneficial.
PINK WATER. HOW TO COOK AT HOME
All you need is a few rose petals, just not the kind of roses that are sold in flower shops, as these roses are loaded with harmful chemicals. Try to find either a tea rose or privately grown roses at your parents' dacha, for example 😃.
So, pick enough rose petals to cover the bottom of the container in which you will cook them, in several layers. Rinse them well, then fill with clean water to cover the petals and bring the water to a boil. Once the petals turn white, and once the water has changed color to the color of the petals (this may take 20 to 60 minutes), remove the decoction from the heat and cool it. Squeeze the leaves and strain the decoction through cotton wool.
This homemade rose water can be used anytime for a hydrating, cleansing and soothing effect. Store in the refrigerator for up to 7 days.
