wrinkles

As we age, skin tends to become thinner, drier, and less elastic, and its ability to protect itself from environmental damage decreases. The elastin and collagen in your skin's connective tissue become weak and break down due to changes in fibroblasts. Fibroblasts are cells that produce collagen and elastin. All these factors are the causes of wrinkles, fine mesh and skin folds.

CAUSES OF WRINKLES

Age

The internal aging of your skin is a natural process that occurs over many years, even without the influence of any external influences. After your 20th birthday, you start producing one percent less collagen in your skin every year. As a result, your skin becomes thinner and more flaccid.

The performance of your sweat and sebaceous glands also decreases. And, produced by your body, the amount of elastin decreases. And, above all, the formation of GAG is reduced. Glycosaminoglycans (GAGs), naturally present in our skin, help retain moisture (they can hold almost 1,000 times their own weight in moisture). Hyaluronic acid is a great example of a GAG.

Smoking

Smoking is the best way to age your skin as quickly as possible and is well deservedly rewarded with premature wrinkles. The more cigarettes you smoke, and the longer you smoke, the more wrinkles you will have. The nicotine in cigarettes causes your blood vessels in the outermost layers of your skin to constrict.

The constriction reduces blood flow to your skin. Thus, your skin becomes deprived of oxygen, essential nutrients and vitamin A. Tobacco smoke contains 4,000 chemicals that damage both your collagen and your elastin. These fibers give strength and elasticity to your skin. As a result, your skin begins to sag and shrink.

Exposure to UV radiation

UVA and UVB are two types of ultraviolet rays that reach the Earth. UVA rays cause sunburn as well as wrinkles and other signs of premature aging. UVB rays cause skin cancer and sunburn. When UV rays hit your skin, they interact with melanin.

If you expose yourself to frequent exposure to ultraviolet rays, this can lead to the formation of fine lines, wrinkles, age spots, freckles and other not-so-pleasant formations on the skin. Therefore, always use sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher when you are in the sun.

Habits associated with facial expressions

Causes of wrinkles

If you often walk around frowning, smiling or squinting, then this can also lead to so-called "expression wrinkles" sooner than you would like. Every time you use your facial muscles, microscopic depressions form under the surface of your skin.

While you are young, your skin corrects this deformity, but as you get older, your skin loses its flexibility. Cigarette smoking and even frequent chewing of gum causes your face to engage in certain facial expressions and can also cause wrinkles.

Stress

The stress hormone, cortisol, has a negative effect on your collagen. If you are constantly stressed out, then you are regularly bathing your body in cortisol. And it's getting harder and harder for your skin to repair itself. These factors, in turn, negatively affect the production of collagen and elastin.

If you reduce cortisol levels and increase beta-endorphins, you can significantly reduce this damage. Restful sleep and exercise help increase beta-endorphins.

Lack of sleep

Oh, this dream, which its lack just does not affect. At night, your energy and cellular functions are focused on repair and healing to prepare your skin for the next day's protection.

Short sleep means less protection and even less recovery, which is why it causes wrinkles ahead of time. Scientists found that people who slept just 5 hours every night for a month developed twice as many wrinkles and blemishes compared to those who slept 7 hours.

Depression

Causes of depression

Depression causes an increase in stress hormones. We already know how stress works. If you are depressed, the nervous system is severely depressed, and poor sleep and eating disorders only exacerbate the matter. These factors accelerate the aging process.

Prolonged feelings of sadness and hopelessness cause a reduction in telomeres (these are the end sections of chromosomes that perform a protective function). These structures are located in your cell and affect the lifespan of each cell.

Telomere truncation affects cell division, which in turn leads to premature cell death. These accelerated signs of aging are most visible in rapidly dividing tissue, and our skin is one such tissue.

Alcohol

Alcohol is one of the most aggressive chemical compounds that has a damaging effect on your skin. The first effect of alcohol is dehydration. It sucks all the moisture out of your skin. In fact, alcohol ignites your tissues.

Such constant burning caused by alcohol triggers an allergic reaction that leads to redness and flushing of the skin. But if you continue to drink, then this redness of your face can become your hallmark. Always remember that collagen is hard to get back, but easy to destroy.

Dehydration

Dehydration

When your skin's moisture content is low, it loses its brightness and vitality. From a physiological point of view, your skin contains molecules that have a natural ability to absorb water superficially and dissolve deeply in it.

If your skin does not retain these molecules, then the water will not stay in your skin and will evaporate. As a result, you will notice fine lines and wrinkles around the eyes and then on the face in general. Hyaluronic acid is the molecule that traps water in the deepest layers of your skin.

The various structures in your skin that contain collagen need water to function effectively. Moisturizing the skin both from the outside and from the inside is crucial for beautiful, wrinkle-free skin.
