10 RECOMMENDATIONS TO IMPROVE THE CONDITION OF YOUR SKIN

How to improve complexion. This will help you keep your skin healthy.

INNA CODRU , SEPTEMBER 13, 2018

We all want to have clear skin. Since the skin is the first thing people notice about our appearance, there is no doubt that a pale complexion can make us feel less confident. Shops, pharmacies and beauty salons are littered with countless creams and make-up that help close or hide, for a while, skin imperfections. However, what we often forget is that appearance begins with the inner health of a person. In fact, the skin being the largest organ in your body and accounting for 10 percent of our total body weight, is often an indicator of a person's overall health. And complexion is one such indicator.

One of the main functions of the skin is to detoxify the body. For example, sweating is your body's way of getting rid of toxins through your skin. Other than that, it's safe to say that acne, psoriasis, rashes, eczema, and rosacea are symptoms of something that happens deep under the skin's surface. Most practitioners agree that skin problems should begin to be addressed in the first place with improving the internal health of patients. For example, very often patients suffer from many different skin problems due to general bowel dysfunction.

Internal health and skin health are inextricably linked to gastrointestinal (GI) health. Studies have shown that underlying gut dysfunctions such as leaky gut syndrome, excess gut bacteria, and bacterial imbalance contribute to poor skin health( 1 ). All these symptoms are your body's way of giving a serious signal - "help me here!". Luckily, there are some lifestyle changes that you can easily incorporate into your daily routine. They can help keep your gut working and improve skin health—no medication needed. Here's where to start:

1. Avoid skin exposure to certain foods

Excess consumption of sugar or even natural sweeteners such as coconut sugar and honey, by feeding bad bacteria in the gut, can go a long way in contributing to poor skin tone. Incidentally, grains also contain amylose sugars, proteins, and gluten, which can continue to exacerbate gut dysfunction.

2. Be mindful of food intolerances

Each person's biochemistry is unique and therefore each person can have a different food intolerance. Learning which foods trigger your body's inflammatory response will help you avoid this and instead choose foods that will make your skin glow with health. The right diet is the gold standard for getting your health in the right direction.

3. Soothe your skin with coconut oil

COCONUT OIL is an extraordinary product. Not only is this oil an excellent choice for cooking due to its high content of gut-supporting healthy fats, but it is also antimicrobial( 2 ), making it a great choice for removing makeup or moisturizer.

4. Don't Forget Probiotics

Foods like sauerkraut, pickles, and kefir are loaded with gut-healing probiotics. Add them to your diet for a daily dose of good bacteria to balance your gut microflora and keep it in great shape.

5. Add skin supporting collagen

This protein, COLLAGEN , is made up of three amino acids - glycine, proline, and hydroxyproline - and is found in the body's connective tissues, including cartilage, bones, blood vessels, tendons, and skin. It regulates the production of its own collagen and promotes skin elasticity to keep you looking young and beautiful. Adding collagen supplements to your daily diet can be very beneficial as most people get only 3 grams of glycine out of the required 15 grams per day. You can add collagen powder to your morning tea or smoothie.

6. Adaptogens

These medicinal plants and medicinal herbs are some of my favorite supplements to help bring balance to every system in the body, including the skin. Pearl powder, for example, is loaded with amino acids that help nourish skin cells. Thin-leaf basil also helps to reduce inflammation and promote body rejuvenation. With the growing popularity of adaptogens among celebrities around the world to maintain youthfulness and beauty of the body and skin in particular, these magical powders are now easier to obtain than ever before. You can experiment with adding them to your drinks, smoothies, coffee, or sprinkle them on your favorite dishes.

7. Drink bone broth

Not only does bone broth soothe a damaged or inflamed gastrointestinal tract (because the broth is loaded with collagen), it also helps restore skin color and firmness by stimulating its elasticity. It contains a ton of vital energy, it is only important to cook it correctly, so include this dish, as a medicine, in your diet.

8. Consume Biotin

BIOTIN or vitamin B helps in the synthesis of fatty acids. And since our skin is exposed daily to strong negative effects due to adverse environmental conditions (sun, wind, frost, emissions of harmful substances, etc.), skin cells rely on additional production of fatty acids ( 3 ) as protection . You can get biotin through supplements and also through certain food sources such as avocados, fish, beef liver, and eggs.

9. Discover EGCG

Epigallocatechin gallate (EGCG), is a type of antioxidant polyphenol that fights cell-damaging free radicals that lead to early signs of aging. This compound is found in abundance in green tea, in particular matcha. Modern research has shown that EGCG can even rejuvenate( 4 ) those skin cells that are starting to die.

10. Apple Cider Vinegar Toner

Using apple cider vinegar as a post-cleansing toner can help reduce the appearance of PIGMENT SPOTS by balancing your skin's pH levels. Many cosmetologists offer this to their patients to solve other skin problems. In fact, one study found that apple cider vinegar was able to reduce the appearance of eczema in as little as three weeks ( 5 ).
