MINK, SILK AND SYNTHETIC EYELASHES - WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE?

Eyelash extension mink or silk... or synthetic?

One of the questions that gets asked all the time about eyelash extensions is "what's the difference between silk, synthetic (also sometimes known as 'acrylic'), and mink lashes."

Using all three of these materials, let's understand the differences, pros and cons of different types and why you should choose one of them. Here's a rundown of each type, the pros and cons, and who they're best suited for, to help you choose your next set of lashes!

Synthetic lashes:

They are made of polished, acrylic material and are the most durable. In appearance, they are slightly more shiny (or glossy) than mink or silk, and when applied they look quite thick, more dramatic so to speak. At the same time, they can vary in thickness and curvature, and can look very natural. They are most popular with ladies who want a more dramatic or even slightly artistic look.

Such eyelashes hold their shape tightly due to their hardness. Some people find them not as "soft" or "natural" as compared to silk or mink lashes, and while they last quite a while, the thickest type (0.20mm thick) doesn't compare to the wearability of silk. or mink lashes.

They are most suitable for those who have healthy, dense eyelashes. They tend to be preferred by younger clients.

However, since synthetic lashes are heavier in weight than artificial silk or mink lashes, they are not a suitable option for many people - I personally believe that silk or mink are the only types of artificial lashes that should be worn for a long time, so as not to cause thinning (or loss) of your own, natural eyelashes.

And yet, no matter what, synthetic lashes have their customers because of their price and because on some clients, with very thick natural lashes, they can look fantastic!

Silk eyelashes:

This is the middle class in the eyelash extension industry. They are thinner and more flexible than synthetic ones. Because they are softer and more porous, they tend to last a little longer than synthetic ones. They can be made both very natural and very glamorous, and, if desired, as dense and thick as synthetic eyelashes.

Because they are lighter, they are often much better suited to lashes if your own are weak or shallow. They definitely last longer than synthetic lashes.

Like synthetic lashes, silk lashes come in a variety of lengths and curves. We can say that they are a better option for the naturalness of your cilia, because the curl they usually have is not uniform and because of this they do not look like soldiers in the ranks, which is typical for synthetic lashes.

Glamorous silk lash sets are one of the most popular options for brides who are looking for lashes that are not just good volume, but long-lasting natural looking.

Faux mink eyelashes:

Faux mink lashes are artificial fibers designed to mimic real mink fur. They are very thin, soft and silky, like real fur. They even have some advantage over natural mink in that if you get them wet they won't lose their curl. Whereas natural mink lashes become straight and fine and you will have to use a curling iron.

Faux mink lashes are becoming very popular because they are light and natural and you feel just like your own lashes. They are also shinier than silk lashes, giving the lashes a glossy look.

With due attention to them, these eyelashes are very durable. And because they are very light, they do not fall or twist, even after many weeks of wear.

One drawback, not even a drawback, but I want to note a note. And it lies in the fact that even when you try to make a large volume of such eyelashes, they will still look natural and fluffy. Therefore, if you want to achieve a really glamorous effect, a la Kardashian, then you are better off using synthetic eyelashes, which can give a very impressive volume.
