What you need to know BEFORE the procedure of shugaring

Sugaring how to prepare for the procedure. Contraindications Video recommendations

INNA CODRU , JANUARY 4, 2018

  • For best results, do not use exfoliating scrubs the day before, on the day of your procedure, or the day after. On the contrary , try to moisturize your skin regularly!
  • It is best not to sunbathe or exercise before the sugaring procedure.
  • Try not to use creams or lotions before the procedure.
  • We recommend that you DO NOT perform the procedure:
    • If you are taking antibiotics
    • If you think you may currently have a virus
    • during your menstrual cycle, as you may be more sensitive
  • Do not use razors or depilatory creams between treatments, as this will interfere with your primary goal of reducing hair growth, making it softer and, over time, thinner and having smooth, healthy skin.
  • Cleanse your skin regularly (but not before sessions) using spa massage gloves and products recommended by your beautician.
  • Moisturize your skin regularly with products that your beautician or doctor also recommends. This will keep your skin in the best possible condition both before and after sugaring.
  • If you are new to Body Sugaring, or have not yet done so, stop shaving or using any other method of hair removal 7-10 days prior to your sugaring appointment. And of course, there is no need to grow your hair weeks or months (!) Before the procedure, 7-10 days are enough)).

Things to remember AFTER the sugaring procedure

  • We recommend that you refrain from sports training, solarium and exposure to infrared lamps for the first 24 hours.
  • Also refrain from self-tanning creams for 48-72 hours, as the chemicals in some of them can irritate open follicles.
  • Avoid using creams or lotions right before your procedure.
  • Avoid wearing tight-fitting clothing immediately after waxing. Bring clean, white, cotton underwear to wear after your bikini area and a clean, white, cotton shirt to wear after your chest or back has been waxed.
  • Medical experts recommend abstaining from sexual activity for the first 48 hours after any type of bikini waxing. Your body is most susceptible at this time to external bacteria that can cause an infection.
  • A slight pink coloration of the skin is normal and should disappear within a few hours. To reduce redness and any discomfort, apply ice to the reddened area for a few minutes.
  • Avoid scratching or rubbing the skin after treatment. Itching may occur due to increased blood flow to an area saturated with sugar. Dead Sea salt compresses or other salt compresses can help relieve itching. But do not use such a compress for longer than 15 minutes, and be sure to wipe the skin with clean warm water after the compress. (For compresses, dissolve 1/2 teaspoon of Dead Sea salt in 1/4 cup of water). In addition, hydrocortisone ointment can be used to reduce inflammation if no medical reason prohibits its use.
  • After facial treatment, avoid makeup, perfumed soaps, or products with any other chemical irritants for 12 hours. Do not use unprofessional face creams for 24 hours.
  • After your armpit treatment, your beautician may recommend applying the Hungarian Mineral Mud Mask. This will reduce inflammation and soothe the skin. After all, use your favorite moisturizer for your skin.
